Moses Wasn’t Good Enough

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Exodus 32:32

But now, please forgive their sin—but if not, then blot me out of the book you have written.

O-bservation:

Moses was appealing to God for mercy on the people of Israel. They had sinned by building a golden calf to worship while Moses had been on Mt. Sinai receiving the law from God. Moses said, “They have certainly sinned greatly, but please forgive them, otherwise just blot my name out of Your book.”

A-pplication:

From the beginning of humankind, God had already chosen the perfect sacrifice to atone for the sins of all humankind. His name is Jesus. The only begotten of God. Yet Moses was noble in his love and leadership of the people, and he offered to be sacrificed instead of them being punished. But the truth is, “Moses Wasn’t Good Enough.” Only Jesus was the perfect sacrifice. No matter how good or noble or humble any of us may be, we’re not good enough to be a sacrifice for anyone. We can serve, love, pray, and give, but that’s as far as it goes. “Moses Wasn’t Good Enough,” and neither are we to stand in as a perfect sacrifice for the sins of all humankind. Only Jesus is all that God was looking for to atone for our sins. I’m so thankful on this fine AM that I am one of those men He saved.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I’m grateful to You this AM that you stepped in and took my place by giving Your perfect life on a cruel cross. Your sacrifice made it possible for me to really live. Amen
