Maybe You Don’t Really Know
S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
1 Corinthians 8:2
Those who think they know something do not yet know as they ought to know.
O-bservation:
St. Paul was preparing to teach the Church at Corinth some new information. He prefaced it by saying, you think you know something but, “Maybe You Don’t Really Know.”
A-pplication:
I’m sure you’ve heard the line before … “Don’t confuse me with the facts, I’ve already made up my mind.” Usually it’s used as a joke, but those kinds of jokes are born out of reality. Unfortunately, as people age their minds sometimes turn to cement. In other words, they become so hardened in their thinking that even God can’t break through their arrogance. Jesus always has new information for us to learn. He’s always wanting his people to grow, but there’s always the element that believes they already have it figured out. To those folks I can hear Heaven saying today … “Maybe You Don’t Really Know!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
This AM I fell like young Samuel who said, “Speak Lord for YOUR servant is listening.” I’m ready to learn some more. Amen
