Who Made It?

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

Hebrews 3:4

For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything

The writer is establishing the fact that nothing just happens. Things don’t just appear out of nowhere. If you see a house standing, it’s because someone built the house. The power behind this single verse is that it’s one thing to build something, it’s an entirely different thing to have built EVERYTHING. God is the builder of everything and He is greater than all things.

Arrogance usually results when a person takes credit for something they didn’t make happen. Anyone who is guilty of such a matter is living in a very small world. God invites all of us to look around. All of humanity’s creations dwarf when laid in front of the backdrop of the Grand Canyon, Mount Kilimanjaro, the Colorado River, and any of the oceans of the world! Humans build stuff and then blow their own stuff up. What remains is what God built, which can’t be blown up. So if limited, peanut humanity built the Eiffel Tower, who really built it? Not only did God make heaven and earth, He also made everything in it. That’s including Humankind! So now, since we know who really made “The Tower,” the next time you hear someone boast of their own accomplishments you need to ask … “Who Really Made It?”

Dear Jesus,

I thank You this AM for the ability You have given me, but all I’m taking credit for is my sin. Thank You that You forgive me and continue to bless me. Amen

  1. I like to boast about my God’s great preprietorship over my everything. I sometimes look bad to others as I take pride over my gifts and talents. I think that I make God laugh with my enthusiasm and my excitement around my life. I can not wait for the next day to see what He had prepared for me. La vie est belle!
