Light And Easy

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Matthew 11:30

For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

O-bservation:

Jesus told His disciples that if they were weary and laden down with cares, to come to Him, and He would give them rest. This was Jesus’ message then, and it continues to be His message today. He concluded this particular presentation by saying that His yoke is easy, and His burden is light.

A-pplication:

I often meet people who claim to be “Followers Of Jesus” who tell me how hard it is to be a Christian. They say they are ostracized because of their faith and sometimes put down by others. They complain about their pastor and that the church they go to isn’t friendly, and on and on. Whenever I hear this, I always go back to the words of Jesus when He said, “My way is Easy And Light.” When people say it’s a tough life being a Christian, I always consider the source. My father didn’t have much money. He worked hard and was a loving pastor, and I don’t think I’m overstating the fact that he never met a stranger. He loved people, and he loved being a Christian. He never could get enough of Jesus. Things that my dad did that seemed hard to me, he took it with a grain of salt and smiled his way to victory. Dad knew the way of a “Jesus Follower” was “Easy And Light.” If a person wants the cross to be a burden, that’s their decision, but the one who died on a cross said, “My way is Easy And Light.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

Thank You this AM that You never called us to misery, but you called us to a life of love, peace, and joy. Today I’m glad to follow in Your way. Amen
