Life, Prosperity, and HONOR

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Proverbs 21:21

Whoever pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor

O-bservation:

Simply put, there is no real life, prosperity, or honor without righteousness and love being one’s first priority.

A-pplication:

I recently spoke to a father who reminded me that his son had just graduated from university and that there wouldn’t be any more free rides. It was now time for his son to go out and earn a living! I wholeheartedly agreed because I raised my sons the same way. But now, look at Solomon’s words. Maybe I should say, now that my child has graduated from university he or she must pursue godliness and love, and when they do the things I want for them, like “Life, Prosperity, and HONOR,” will definitely come their way. You may be thinking, of course that’s what you meant. But is it really what I meant? Let’s be careful to put God’s way at the root of our thinking and it will reveal itself in our actions and statements. Because we all want “Life, Prosperity, and HONOR,” but how we get there is what makes those pursuits godly or humanistic.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

Well of course I want real “Life, Prosperity, and HONOR,” but help me get those blessings because I have sought to be like You and loved to the fullest. Amen
