Let’s Have It Out

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Isaiah 43:26

Review the past for me, let us argue the matter together; state the case for your innocence.

O-bservation:

These are the words of the Lord to you and me. In the previous verse, He reminded us that it is He who has the authority to forgive and do away with our sins. Here the Lord says, “Remind me if there is something that I have overlooked.” Of course, I believe the Lord is being somewhat “tongue and cheek” in this statement, as He knows all things knowable.

A-pplication:

Before we move any further, we must remember the way Isaiah opened the first chapter of this prophetic book. In verse eighteen, God spoke through the prophet and said to all of His people for all time, “Come, let us reason together.” This is God’s great reach to His people. Let’s talk about it. Let’s argue if we have to. We can disagree if we must, but please talk with Me! This is God’s way of saying, “Let’s Have It Out!” Certainly, at first glance, there is no need for the all-powerful, all-knowing, all-everywhere God of the ages to desire to talk to such puny nothings as you and me. Yet, we must also remember that with the other ALLS already mentioned, we must add the ALL-LOVING God of the universe to His vast abilities and characteristics. He LOVES us so much that He is willing to stoop on a twenty-four-hour, minute by minute basis to talk with us even if it means, “Let’s Have It Out!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

Once again this AM, I’m baffled by Your great love for me. I don’t know why, and I guess I will never understand, but I’m needy as always, and I lovingly kneel at Your feet again to say I’m Yours. Amen
