Let’s Get It Over With, I’ve Got Things To Do
S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Mark 1:12
At once the Spirit sent him out into the wilderness.
O-bservation:
Jesus had just been baptized by his cousin, John the Baptist. At the baptism, the dove representing the Holy Spirit came down upon Him and the Father spoke, saying that He was well pleased with His Son Jesus. Immediately (at once), the Spirit led Him into the wilderness to be tested by Satan.
A-pplication:
With every promotion, there will first come a test. This has been true for everyone since grade school. In this case, Jesus was ready for public ministry. But first His father tested Him. Testing is always about next level activity. When one fails the test, it doesn’t mean they’re a loser, it just means they’re not quite ready for the next level. Consequently, the individual must go back to the drawing board and prepare again for another test. Once finished, they pass and move on to the next level. This is true with our faith. Jesus passed the test in the wilderness when the devil tempted him three different times and each time Jesus was victorious. What followed next has astounded the world for all time. As you read this post this AM, think of the test you’re in now. Don’t be afraid of it. Instead, why not do what Jesus did. He didn’t complain or run, instead He moved into the test as if to say to His Father, “Let’s Get It Over With, I’ve Got Things To Do!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
Thank You for the test. I want the next level. I know there’s no other way, so “Let’s Get It Over With, I’ve Got Things To Do!” For You. Amen
