Let’s Approach One Another With Love And MERCY
S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Matthew 9:13
“But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
O-bservation:
Jesus made it clear in this passage, just before the one above, that doctors were there to care for the sick, not the well. Likewise, Jesus said, “I’ve not come for the righteous but for the sinners.” He was looking for mercy on the part of “righteous people” instead of external acts of sacrifice.
A-pplication:
MERCY is in short supply as I write. There, I said it! It is evident that the world needs a baptism of mercy like never before. The level of judgment that is in the world is overwhelming. Sometimes I feel that the pandemic of 2020 has given people who have been shuttered in the “RIGHT” in their own mind to spew what they’ve really been thinking all along. Jesus said, I didn’t come for people who are righteous, but I came for people who are sinners and know they are. Sinners who know they are sinners are desperately seeking MERCY. That’s where true, loving Christian believers are the answer. You don’t approach someone who is truly broken and say, “C’mon, on your feet, let’s go!” NO! You are kind, loving, gentle, and merciful. We’ve arrived at a place in the world today where judgment must stop, and MERCY must begin. Since we’re all sinners at some point in our lives, “Let’s Approach One Another With Love And MERCY.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I know that the Word says judgment must begin at the house of the Lord, yet it seems like everyone has gotten on the judgment bandwagon. Please help me be a man who is here to offer MERCY. I’ll let You take care of the judgment. Amen
