Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.
Part of what the Apostle Paul was dealing with in the church at Galatia was the fact that they had started strong as young believers but now, after a while, they were falling back into the old ways and laws of Judaism. Here he said, “If you’ve truly decided to live by the Spirit, you must continue to pursue the direction the Spirit is leading you.”
When Paul said in 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”, he was saying the new is always coming at you. You can’t rest on what was yesterday. This life in Christ is not a list of old rituals that one is constantly falling back on as if to keep one’s faith, NO! This life in Christ is a continual pursuit of the Holy Spirit’s leading you into the paths of righteousness. That way, the follower of Jesus is never bored with his Maker. The tendency with anything that is new is that in time it becomes old to the person experiencing the newness. But that is not the way of the Spirit. That is the way of a person wanting to compartmentalize his or her faith in order to pull it up if needed. No! That is not God’s way. His way is new every morning! That’s why Paul admonished us in this passage to, “Keep Up, Don’t Fall Back!”
Where are You taking me to today? I’m ready to keep up with Your leading. Amen
