Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.
King David closed out his very first Psalm with a theme that would run through the entire book. He said the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked lead to their own demise. When the king died, his son Solomon took over the leadership of the nation. He wrote the book of Proverbs, and this same theme was continued.
It’s not that God doesn’t watch over the way of the rebellious; it’s just that it doesn’t do them any good. If one of my sons is rebellious towards me and absolutely abhors everything I stand for, I can worry all day, call him all day, and cry over him all day, but it won’t do a thing until his heart changes. On the other hand, if that same son is compliant, wants my input, and comes for fatherly advice, I’ll have my eye on every move he makes. Isn’t that the way the Lord is? He keeps His eye on us because we go to Him in prayer. We want Him to be pleased with the decisions we make, and most of all, we desire His blessing. Because we do, His eyes track us every minute of every day. When I think of this, all I can say is, “Keep Jesus Watching Over You!”
This AM, I’m begging You to keep Your eyes on me all day long. I know that when You do, it will mean I’m walking on Your righteous paths! Amen
