JUSTICE

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Zechariah 8:16

These are the things you are to do: Speak the truth to each other, and render true and sound judgment in your courts.

O-bservation:

These were the words of the prophet Zechariah after the people of God began returning to Jerusalem and rebuilding the temple of the Lord. While the temple was being rebuilt, original Jewish laws were being re-instituted. Not the least of these Newish laws was that people were to speak the truth to their friends and render JUST laws in the courts.

A-pplication:

“JUSTICE!” Whenever we hear Justice, one of our first thoughts is usually the words, “That’s Not Fair!” Or “Well At Least That’s Fair For Everybody!” It seems the more independent we become, the louder the cry for “JUSTICE” prevails. In my country, the rage is all about social “JUSTICE.” It’s about not offending anyone in any way. Sometimes simple mistakes, or misspeaks, doom an individual’s future. Even though the cries for their immediate dismissal from their present position may be accepted by a certain group, there’s another group that will push back with, “That’s Not Fair!” I could go on and on, but the simple truth is that God wants His people to speak the truth to everyone they know and then be fair with everyone they know. Nobody in the universe cries for “JUSTICE” more than our wonderful Lord.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

This AM I’m asking You to help me speak the truth in love to everyone I meet today. Also, Lord, I long for “JUSTICE” as I endeavor to respond to everyone I meet in need. Amen
