Just Be Big!
S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Psalm 108:5
Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth.
O-bservation:
Kind David pens his absolute heart’s desire in this verse. More than anything, David is saying to His Lord and master, “When it comes to Your dominance over the earth, O Lord, Just Be Big!”
A-pplication:
This word glory means to magnify or make larger. When we glorify the Lord in praise, we are enlarging our understanding of God. There is no way that we mortals can possibly fathom his BIGNESS, yet if we’re not careful, we tend to put God in our little box to try and understand Him. But He’s just BIG. And once again, every time we say, “I glorify Your name” and when we say, “Let Your glory be over the whole earth,” what happens is we are, in our own minds, expanding our view of our God. That’s a very GOOD thing! In the end, this, I believe, is why David was called the man after God’s own heart. David knew that nothing was impossible for him to accomplish as long as he had a big view of his God! That’s why I think you and I should always remind ourselves to say to our great God, “Just Be Big!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
This AM, I’m so grateful to serve my real BIG God. Even the word BIG is limited. No word I know aptly describes Your greatness, bigness, or largeness. Either way, it helps me to say it, “Just Be BIG!” Amen
