Just Ask

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Lamentations 5:21

Restore us to yourself, Lord, that we may return; renew our days as of old.

O-bservation:

At the very end of this book of tears, written by the “Weeping Prophet” Jeremiah, he speaks for the people to the Lord. He says, “Put us back together with You. Please, Lord, turn us toward You. Maybe then it could be like it used to be in the good old days” (paraphrase).

A-pplication:

When Jeremiah penned these words, Judah was full-on stripped of its former greatness. Most of the inhabitants of Judah were living in Babylon, and this remnant had been left in Judah to eke out some kind of existence. Judah had known greatness in the past. It had known the blessing and protection and prosperity of Almighty God, but instead of living humbly before the Lord, the people began to live like all other heathen nations. God never turned His back on His people until they turned their backs on Him. That’s why the prophet said, “Turn Us Toward You” in another translation. Why? Because they were too weak to do it on their own. All they could do was “Just Ask.” All victories that men and women ever win in the realm of the Spirit always begin with an “ASK.” Whatever you may be facing this AM, Jesus is waiting for you to initiate the miracle. And … the miracle begins when you’re ready to “Just Ask.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

You know everything there is to know about me. You know more than I know about myself. I think I know what I need, but I’m here to “Just Ask” You to give me what I need. Amen
