Jesus Is HARD Towards Those Who Disobey
S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Matthew 25:24
Then the man who had received one bag of gold came. “Master,” he said, “I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed.”
O-bservation:
Here was a man who had disobeyed his employer by not investing the seed he’d been given to invest with while the employer was gone. Because he had disobeyed, he saw his employer as a “Hard Man” to work for.
A-pplication:
Jesus used this story as a metaphor for the way the Lord responds to those who disobey Him. Is it fair to blame the employer or the Lord for disciplining those who willfully disobey? Spending time with my grandchildren is a pleasure hard to describe. However, when they are disobedient I’m glad when their parents discipline them. How else will they learn how to operate in this world when they grow up? Their parents discipline them because they LOVE my grandkids. I cannot stand on the side of the man in this parable who disobeyed the Lord. I’m on the side of Jesus. Remember, “Jesus Is HARD Towards Those Who Disobey.” And … It’s because He loves us.
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
This AM I’m ready for whatever You have to do to help reign me in. I know You love me. Amen
