Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.
This was a simple statement by Jesus that packed a wallop. He had referenced the ego of the Pharisees earlier and was basically saying, “They’d better be careful because here’s what’s about to happen. Because they have exalted themselves, they will be humbled.”
If you’re like me, when you read this passage you think “I’ve Seen This Happen A Million Times Before!” I know it’s not a million, but you know what I mean. Seriously, you watch some people and you think they’re just setting themselves up for a major fall. And three years later or two months later or 26 years later what happens? Boom! They are brought down and humbled. The only people I’ve ever warned have been my children and I don’t even do that anymore. All we can really do is pray and be the person in the second half of the verse and humble ourselves in hopes of being blessed by our Lord.
This AM, once again like Paul taught I die to my fleshly love for praise and look to You, my blessed Savior, for help. Please bless me to Your will. Amen
