It’s Pretty Big

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Revelation 21:16
The city was laid out like a square, as long as it was wide. He measured the city with the rod and found it to be 12,000 stadia in length, and as wide and high as it is long.
O-bservation:
This verse was told to us by John the Revelator. He is the Apostle who received the vision of the Revelation. Toward the end of the Revelation, an angel came to John and said, “Come with me, I want to show you heaven. This is the place where the Bride of Christ will live.” He talked about heaven being 12,000 stadia in length and height and width. In other words, it appeared to John to be an unimaginable perfect cube in size. You may ask, “How big is heaven.” When I tell you, you will say, “It’s Pretty Big.”
A-pplication:
I can tell you this, 12,000 stadia in length is 1380 miles. A stadia was an Ancient Greek or Roman measure of distance. One stadia is 607 feet in measurement in my country. So this was the size of heaven that John saw. Let me make it more straightforward. What I’m going to give you will be a little smaller than heaven’s actual size. Imagine going from New York City to Omaha, Nebraska. Once you get to Omaha, you would then head due south to the tip of Texas. Once at the tip of Texas, you would go East across the Gulf of Mexico to Miami. Once you get to Miami, you would go north to New York City. Now make that distance into a CUBE. That’s what John saw! Someone has done a measurement of how many people could fit in America, and they found that the entire population of the WORLD could fit standing shoulder to shoulder in the five Burroughs that make up New York City. Is the world overpopulated? I don’t think so. How big is heaven? “It’s Pretty Big!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I’m amazed that you have created a place for all the inhabitants of earth’s history to be joyfully housed. I also imagine that many have and will refuse to live with you there. But I know that it was in your original plan to have us all there with You. I can’t wait to see You there. Amen
