It’s Better To Finish Strong
S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
1 Samuel 13:1
Saul was thirty years old when he became king, and he reigned over Israel forty-two years.
O-bservation:
Saul was the first king of Israel. Although God did not want Israel to have a king, He relented because Israel continued to beg Him for a king. Saul started with such promise at the young age of thirty, but forty-two years later he committed suicide.
A-pplication:
No one remembers Saul as a good king. He did some great things and he was at one time very heroic, but no one remembers him for any heroism. They remember him as the first and only king in his bloodline. Why? He forfeited his position due to his rebellion and disobedience toward the Lord. Here was the number one draft pick of the Lord who committed suicide. You can have every opportunity afforded humankind, however if it isn’t received first with VISION and second with GRATITUDE, there’s a strong possibility that a dead ending is in the future. It’s a blessing to start strong, but “It’s Better To Finish Strong.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
Help me this AM, like Paul the Apostle, to run with patience the race that is set before me that I may “Finish Strong.” Amen
