Isn’t There An Order To Things?

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Acts 10:46
For they heard them speaking in tongues and praising God.
O-bservation:
The backdrop to this verse includes the fact that the Apostle Peter had been told in a vision that he was to go to the house of Cornelius (a gentile) and preach the Good News. He and his team went, and while he was preaching people in the audience began speaking in tongues. This was the initial sign that people had been baptized in the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost.
A-pplication:
I’m a “Follower Of Jesus” first; I’m also a Pentecostal, which means I have been baptized in the Holy Spirit as is first spoken of in Acts 2. In that chapter, the people were in an upper room for ten days praying and waiting to be filled with the Spirit, as Jesus had commanded in Acts 1 before He ascended into heaven. They obviously believed in Jesus. On the day of Pentecost, they were baptized in the Holy Spirit. But the people in this passage were gentiles. Before Peter could even invite them to follow Jesus, they began to speak in tongues. You may be thinking, “Isn’t There An Order To Things?” There is, but sometime during Peter’s message they all believed and were baptized. The prerequisite for salvation is believing in the Lord Jesus. So if you were wondering … there’s your order.
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I’m thankful that as a young boy you baptized me in the Holy Spirit, but not before I had first confessed You as my Savior. I’m thankful for Your divine order. Amen
