Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

Psalm 19:4b

In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun.

King David, the author of many of the Psalms, gives us a picture of the sheer vastness of our great God. As it relates to the heavens above, David said the heavens actually create a tent for the sun to live under! When you consider a Creator so massive that He would create a house/tent for the sun to live in, the word that comes to mind is … INCOMPREHENSIBLE!

Whenever I read this line in the Psalm, I always stop and say to myself, “Wait … What?” That’s right! It’s so mind-boggling that I get happy. I want to consider my God as one who is so large and massive that He can actually do what He says He can do. However, I want Him to be so personable that I can talk to Him anytime I want to without feeling intimidated. BUT this passage is intimidating and there are no two ways about it. And it needs to be. Sometimes, if we’re not careful, we get way too casual with God as if we can get into the “Hey God” kind of bantering. Make no mistake about it, He’s vast and He can handle anything you may think is impossible. And yes, He created the heavens so He could supply some shade for the sun. If you’re amazed by that you should be, because He’s INCOMPREHENSIBLE!

Dear Jesus,

This AM I want to be Your servant and your friend, but I’m done trying to figure You out. I will seek You and I will find You because You said if I do I will be found of You. But, that’s about as far as it goes, because You are INCOMPREHENSIBLE! Amen
