Impress Them On Your Children
S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Deuteronomy 6:6-7a
These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children.
O-bservation:
Moses had just promoted the Ten Commandments to the Children of Israel. And then there continued to be words from God to the people as to what these laws would mean to future generations. Moses told the people these laws are to be continually on your hearts AND you must “Impress Them on Your Children.”
A-pplication:
Everywhere I go, people ask me about my children. The key question they ask, knowing that I am in the ministry, is how did you and your wife lead your sons to the Lord and into the work of the Lord. I can never fully, in a detailed way, describe what we did with “How To Do It, Daily Lists,” but I can tell you this: the Word of God was the centerpiece of our home. The love of Jesus and the need for people to be willing to tell people about Jesus was everything. The grace of God was lived out in our home as we saw God work miracles. The two older boys saw the Lord raise their little brother Graham up from being lifeless. God’s Word, God’s Grace, and God’s Miracles left our sons impressed with Jesus. My wife and I don’t know much, but we do know that the words and miracles of Jesus never fail. “Impress Them on Your Children!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I ask that You allow Robyn and me to assist our grown children in Impressing the Words and Acts of Jesus on our Grandchildren. Amen
