I’m Just Reminding You
S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Titus 3:2
To slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle toward everyone.
O-bservation:
The Apostle Paul here tells Titus to remind the people he’s ministering to to not talk behind people’s back, and to always be peaceable, considerate, and gentle toward everyone.
A-pplication:
Certainly, as a minister of the Gospel, there are times that we are to warn people of pending judgement. Other times, we are to bring instructions on how to live. Still other times, we are called to simply remind people to be kind and gentle in their approach with everyone. Those are the marks of a true “Jesus Follower.” Gentleness is one of the nine “Fruits of the Spirit” mentioned in Galatians 5:22. Yet today, the vitriolic words and hateful speech used in public and on social media is an anathema to the Kingdom of Almighty God. We Believers are called to lead the way, not stir the pot. You may wonder what I’m so worked up about today, “I’m Just Reminding You.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I know that whatever comes out of my mouth was born in my heart. I’m asking You today to purify my heart so that I may respond in a gentle way with everyone. Amen
