Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
I will sing of the Lord’s great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations.
Only Job, perhaps, knew more about trouble in the Bible than King David. But here was David’s solution to every challenge. He said, “I WILL SING, of the Lord’s great love forever.” That’s it in a nutshell. It’s good to sing, but it’s better to sing in the midst of impossible situations.
In every crisis that life brings us, we have a choice. Presently, as the whole world sits in their houses and apartments and tents, many are filled with anxiety. You read what some post on social media and wonder if there will even be another day to live. Then there’s the group that, in the middle of the shock and challenge and foreboding information, have chosen to SING. They do it with laughter, smiles, stories, and song. They desire to see the + sign in every situation, and as I said, it’s a CHOICE. The whole world is in a tough spot right now. None of us know what the trial will bring, but most folks, I believe, have chosen at this point to see the light at the end of the tunnel. However YOU choose to navigate through tomorrow, and the next day, for me, “I WILL SING!”
This passage reminds me of the song my parents would sing when I was a boy. “I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever I WILL SING, I WILL SING!” I’ve been singing for so long it’s just too soon for me to quit! Amen
