I Just Want To Know Him

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Psalm 9:10

Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.

O-bservation:

These are the words of King David, who had a long life of living for and knowing the Lord. So when he speaks about never being forsaken by the Lord, he knows something that some have never learned. He knows that if we really KNOW the Lord, He will not forsake us no matter what.

A-pplication:

Here’s what I know. I know the Lord’s name, and I trust in the Lord. So it’s easy for me to comment on David’s words. I can say without a shadow of a doubt that the Lord has never failed me. Now there have been many folks, some of them great and wealthy, who have let me down. Others called me their friend who were well known, but they were nowhere to be found when I was in trouble. So I’ve experienced people letting me down when I was in real need. I can also tell you that through my years of living, I have known the Lord’s NAME, and I have known it well. When in trouble, I have never failed to call on His name, and He has never failed to answer and help me. Who do you want to know? Is celebrity what gets your attention? Is power what gets your attention? Is wealth what gets your attention? All of those attention getters are good in their place, but “I Just Want To Know Him!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I have known people of wealth and power and fame, but many of them did not know or care much for me. You are my all-powerful, all-everywhere, all-knowing Lord. I know Your Name, and you have never failed me. Thank You! Amen
