Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
In writing to the church at Philippi, the great Apostle said, “As long as I’m here it will be about Jesus, and when I die that will be even better.”
At first glance this is a very difficult verse to swallow. I say that because the first glance I had of this verse, where I actually understood what the Apostle was saying, I was probably 10 years old. Even in my twenties and thirties it was a difficult passage. I mean, as a young man for me to live was making a name for myself, and then getting married and my wife and then my kids, but all the while I was moving closer and closer in my relationship with my Lord and Savior. I’m not sure I can fully say what Paul was saying, but I’m almost there. I mean I still have goals and aspirations at this age yet, all of the goals and aspirations are connected to my relationship with Jesus. The more I live, the more I need Jesus. To accomplish one more day of goals is impossible without Jesus. I can’t believe at this age that I’m so completely dependent on Him. So maybe I am fully on the side of Paul in what he said here. To be honest, here’s what I really need, “I Just Need More Of Jesus.”
All I really ever need is You. I’ve had more than the average human will ever have, but “I Just Need More Of Jesus.” Amen
