Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
The words “once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain.
The writer of Hebrews speaks of a time coming when God will shake everything that can be shaken so that those things that cannot be shaken will stand. In the past, some two thousand years since this passage was penned, there have been many times that seemed as though this passage was coming to pass.
Let’s not get into a theological debate. Rather let us, you and me, just make it simple. As of this writing, we as a world have been in a pandemic called Covid-19 since the beginning of the year. In the US, where I live, we have also experienced an eruption of social injustice that has been boiling under the surface of our pristine-seeming nation for hundreds of years. Indeed there is no going back. Every institution our society counts important has been and is, as I am writing, being shaken. Here’s what I believe for me cannot be shaken. The Apostle’s Creed still stands. And more specifically, I believe in this four-fold truth: Jesus is My Savior, My Healer, My Baptizer, and My Soon Coming King. These truths will NOT be shaken in a million lifetimes. “I Have No Doubts!”
This AM, I am reminiscing over the years gone by in my short lifetime. Yet even I experienced a couple of times when I believed this verse was being fulfilled. But there has never been a day like today that I can remember. “I Have No Doubts About That!” Amen
