How Long Lord?

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Psalm 13:2a

How long must I wrestle with my thoughts?

O-bservation:

In a moment of dark despair, David is thinking stuff that perhaps he shouldn’t be thinking. Concerning these persistent thoughts that just won’t go away, David asks, “How long must I wrestle with my thoughts?”

A-pplication:

There aren’t any of us who haven’t asked the Lord when it comes to a continual nagging issue in our life, “How Long Lord?” I’m pretty sure you’ve been there before. Let’s go over the list. That son who has strayed from the fold for so long he doesn’t know what the fold is like anymore. “How Long Lord?” That reoccurring sickness that the doctor says isn’t something to be concerned about, but that’s your signal to be concerned. “How Long Lord?” The divorce that left you buried in debt and there doesn’t seem to be any way out of that debt burial. “How Long Lord?” How many more of these should I rehearse this AM? I knew you’d say that. That’s why, right now, let’s together say something Jesus would say, “Nevertheless Lord, not my will but thine be done!” That’s all we can do, but that’s all we need to do. Jesus will take it from there.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I’m giving it to You this AM! No more questions. I know You’ve got me. Amen
