Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
1 Thessalonians 4:7
For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life.
St. Paul, who wrote this first of two letters to the Church at Thessalonica, made it very clear that God commands all “Followers Of Jesus” to live a “Holy Life.” In fact, when he spoke of impurity vs. holiness, Paul said the only kind of living God embraces is “Holy Living.”
Paul went on to say in verse 8 that anyone who rejects this instruction is not rejecting mere humans, they are rejecting God who gave us the Holy Spirit. All of this impurity that the Apostle talked about had to do with sexual sin. This is not something that we “Followers Of Jesus” can look lightly upon. We must not only teach Holy Living, our lives should be a daily and nightly illustration of Holy Living. This is not a life that is a miserable life, because we are committed to living in marital harmony in a monogamous relationship. By that the scripture is teaching a husband to his wife and a wife to her husband. That is what scripture teaches and we profess and adhere to. There is a call that is going out even now, around the world, for Holy Living!
Thank You for my precious wife. Thank You for a life of commitment to one woman. Thank You for her commitment to me. All of this is possible because of Your commitment to US. Amen
