Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
2 Timothy 1:14
Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you—guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us.
St. Paul had just finished telling his protégé, Timothy, of all the good things he had deposited into his life through the years. When he finished, he then said to him, “Hold On To The GOOD!”
When you have a lot of GOOD things happen to you when you’re young, it’s easy to think that this is the way all people live. I’m not sure when it happened for me, but there was a day when I began to realize that I was blessed. I realized that not everyone had great parents. Not everyone had a peaceful rhythm to life. Not everyone had three square meals a day. I realized that the parents I had were not usual. I guess I figured out that I was really blessed. I’m not sure when it happened, but there was a point where I began to think, I really need to Hold On To The GOOD! When someone puts GOOD in you, it’s important to treat the GOOD like you would treat GOLD. If it was gold that someone gave you, you’d guard it with your life. But GOOD is a quality that transcends everything you are and do. If you have enough GOOD, in time it can turn into GOLD. Whatever you do, Hold On To The GOOD!
Thank You for the GOOD You have invested in me through GOOD people over the years. Help me to “Hold On To The GOOD!” Amen
