HELL
S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Revelation 20:15
Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.
O-bservation:
These are the words of John the Apostle, who had a vision we call the Revelation. As the book comes to an end, John writes about the judgment of those who have rejected the love of God. John said, “If their names were not found written in the book of life, they were then thrown into the lake of fire.” This place John speaks of has always been called “HELL.”
A-pplication:
Oftentimes I come across a tough passage that would be easy to skip and write about something else that day, because of the difficulty of the subject matter. But I can’t do that this AM. The Word of God has always, in both the Old and New Testaments, promoted the fact that there is a heaven to gain and a “HELL” to shun in this life. In other words, we have choices. From the day I came to faith in Jesus, I’ve been moving towards my eternal reward in heaven. But I must tell you, there was always a concern as a young person about this issue of “HELL.” I’m no longer concerned for myself. I have real peace and unimaginable joy in following Jesus. Instead of preaching “HELL,” I’ve always preached the grace of God and how much He longs for us to make the right decisions on this side of heaven. When we follow Jesus, I can tell you there is no fear of “HELL.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I’m so grateful that I live with NO FEAR of where I will end up when my life is over. Thank You for making a way for me to know eternal life. Amen
