Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
The commander of the Lord’s army replied, “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy.” And Joshua did so.
Just like Moses had a “HOLY GROUND” experience when he saw a burning bush, Joshua now had his HOLY GROUND experience. On both occasions, God seriously interrupted these men’s lives to let them know He had a mission for them. Here, Joshua saw the captain of the Lord’s host. Many believe that this was actually Jesus. Joshua asked Him if He was with them, and the Captain said, “Take your shoes off, the place you are standing is holy.” The Bible says that Joshua did so without hesitation.
I don’t want to talk about Joshua and the Captain of the Lord’s host any longer in this short devo, but I do want to talk about you and me and our HOLY GROUND experience. I guess the first question I want to ask you is, “Have You Experienced, HOLY GROUND?” I can remember the Monday morning in my life when I was only 18 years of age, and the Lord gave me such a personal call to do what I’m doing now that it continues to carry me to this day. By the way, that HOLY GROUND experience in my life took place in 1971! A person doesn’t have to end up on a stage in front of people to have had a HOLY GROUND experience from the Lord, but I believe it helps to experience a HOLY GROUND experience somewhere in your life. It matters not what you do for a living, but it does matter how you serve the Lord. Those who have never had an encounter with the Lord sometimes serve Him out of obligation, or because that’s the way they were raised, or even worse out of fear. But for those who have experienced their own HOLY GROUND, they seldom serve the Lord for any other reason than out of pure joy and gratefulness of heart. “Have You Experienced Holy Ground?”
Thank You for that HOLY GROUND experience You gave me so long ago. I’ve had many since, but that one drives me to this day. Amen
