Has The Lord Said Anything?

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Jeremiah 37:17

Then King Zedekiah sent for him and had him brought to the palace, where he asked him privately, “Is there any word from the Lord?”

O-bservation:

King Zedekiah was the king who reigned in Judah during King Nebuchadnezzar’s takeover of Judah. The Babylonian king had installed Zedekiah as a puppet king while they were taking over Judah. Then the Egyptian’s moved to help Judah, and for a short time, Babylon pulled out. It was at this point that Jeremiah was called from prison before the king and asked by the king, “Has The Lord Said Anything?”

A-pplication:

This has been the question for as long as humans have lived. “Has The Lord Said Anything?” That’s what King Zedekiah wanted to know, and that’s what world leaders today are asking. People in politics, government, military, business, education, science, medicine, sports, tech, and even the ministry are asking, “Has The Lord Said Anything?” Certainly, there is concern everywhere, and people are wondering what’s next? Here is a simple answer. God’s written Word, His Logos Word, is just like Him. It’s the same yesterday, today, and forever. One only needs to look at Matthew chapter twenty-four and realize that we are there. His coming is at the door. When King Zedekiah asked Jeremiah, “Has The Lord Said Anything?” Jeremiah said, “He’s saying the same thing He said the last time I talked to you. Babylon is coming and will burn the place down and leave a few refugees, and the rest of us are moving to Babylon.” That’s exactly what happened. So if you’re wondering today if the Lord is speaking, simply read His Word.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

This AM, I know people around the world are asking the same old question as when Zedekiah asked Jeremiah, “Has The Lord Said Anything?” But the truth of Your Word is just as powerful today as the day it was spoken. It is my honor not only to read Your Word but follow it as well. Amen
