Hand Made

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Psalm 96:5

For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the Lord made the heavens.

O-bservation:

The Psalmist wrote that all of the gods of the nations were idols. That means they were “Hand Made” by humans. On the other hand, the Psalmist said the Heavens were “Hand Made” by GOD.

A-pplication:

This is an interesting thought. At least it is to me. The scripture says that God Made the heavens and the earth in the beginning. After that He spoke things into existence. Perhaps He also spoke the heavens and earth into existence, instead of making them by hand. I like to think that He made them with His own hands. That would mean they were “Hand Made!” But I had this thought. Would you rather worship something you had made with your hands, or would you rather worship someone who made You with His own hands? As I race to finish my doctoral dissertation, it has certainly taught me ONE thing. I’m not very smart. My God on the other hand is beyond my comprehension in intelligence, power, and His ability to be everywhere at the same time. He “Hand Made” me. That’s what I believe.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

Thank You that You took the time to make the heavens and the earth. You cared enough to make me and the friend who reads this devo today. Thank You that I am “Hand Made.” Amen
