Good Morning And Good News!

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Isaiah 61:1a

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor.

O-bservation:

These were the words of Isaiah spoken in his day, long before the birth of Jesus. I’m sure Isaiah spoke them concerning himself and what God was doing in his own life as a prophet. Yet 700 years later this particular prophecy was also used by Jesus to let the people know that He (Jesus) was the fulfillment of this prophecy.

A-pplication:

Every real “Jesus Follower” believes that this prophecy from Isaiah was establishing the fact that one day Jesus, the Messiah, would certainly come to proclaim “Good News” to the poor. When you consider that Jesus healed the sick, opened blind eyes and deaf ears, caused the lame to walk, raised the dead, and pulled money out of a fish’s mouth, anything Jesus said to a “poor” man or woman was “Good News.” But what about you? Is it possible you have all you need but are desperate for “Good News?” Well guess what? Jesus is here again today, and He loves you and wants to simply say, “Good Morning And Good News!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I can never get enough of Your “Good News.” I’m so thankful that You keep giving it to me, even when I’ve failed. Thank You for Your faithfulness in delivering “Good News” again today. Amen
