God Makes The Call

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Psalm 58:11

Then people will say, “Surely the righteous still are rewarded; surely there is a God who judges the earth.”

O-bservation:

King David was living at a certain time when it appeared that only man was in control. The situation had become almost untenable for the people of God. Yet here, the king made the assessment that has guided the world of faith ever since. He said, “Very soon people will say it’s not the governing leaders who have the final say but instead, ‘God Makes The Call!’”

A-pplication:

While still in the middle of a seeming unending threat, David was quick to remind himself that, in the end, “God Makes The Call!” As I write, the entire world is still quarantined because of a virus that is called a pandemic. Indeed it is deadly, but in light of the numbers of people living on the planet and the numbers who have actually contracted the virus, the numbers are minuscule. No one can seem to figure out the origin of this virus, and if they have it’s such a political hot potato that no one has the courage to come out and on the basis of verification, say this is how it happened. Leaders, including women from across the globe, are trying to step up in order to “BE THE MAN,” so to speak, but few are listening. Instead, the world is broken up into little camps of people following this conspiracy theorist or that one, and there is an underlying fear in most that won’t go away. But let me be quick to say this AM! It (the fear) is going to go away, and we will get back to work for the Lord! Why? Because, when it’s all said and done, “GOD MAKES THE CALL!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

This AM, I want to say that I really have no fear. I’m not boasting that I’m only boasting in the power of Your cross. But my hope is in You and You alone. I know it’s You who always makes the final call. Amen
