But Moses said, “Pardon your servant, Lord. Please send someone else.”
These are the words of one whom many folks through the ages have called the greatest human leader in the history of the world, Moses. God Almighty had met Moses in a burning bush and told him that He had chosen him to lead His people out of Egypt’s bondage. After Moses questioned God over and over, Moses pretty much said, “God I Wish YOU Would Choose Someone Else.”
Have you ever felt that way before, or actually said it out loud? I know I have. None of us are really capable in our own power of accomplishing the thing God has called us to do, and when it’s obvious our first response is, “God I Wish YOU Would Choose Someone Else.” But one of the reasons people often give up so quickly is because they’re sure that they will have to accomplish the task on and in their own abilities. God is the one partner in your life who cherishes the opportunity to level your mountain before you ever arrive there. Knowing that where He guides, He also provides, it’s much better to simply say today, “Lord, Thank You For Choosing Me!”
Thank You for seeing in me what I never saw in myself. Thank You, Lord, for choosing me. Amen
