God Always Makes A Way For His People
S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Jeremiah 21:8
“Furthermore, tell the people, ‘This is what the Lord says: See, I am setting before you the way of life and the way of death.’”
O-bservation:
Zedekiah was a wicked king of Judah, and because of his unwillingness to follow the Lord, God denied his request for help against King Nebuchadnezzar. God said, “No, I will punish the royal house of Judah and Nebuchadnezzar will burn Jerusalem to the ground.” And that’s what happened. But the Lord also said this to the people of Judah: “I’m giving you a choice between life and death. I’ll give you life if you surrender and go to Babylon as a captive refugee. I’ll give you death if you stay in Jerusalem.” “God Always Makes A Way For His People.”
A-pplication:
I’m sure a thought just crossed your mind like this, “That’s not a great choice.” But consider this, the people had turned their backs on God for a LONG time, and there was NO grace left for the royal house of Judah, which had helped lead the people astray. God did say, “I give you the choice of life and death.” I’ve always believed that no matter how bad life gets, it’s always a better choice than death. If Jesus said, “I’ve come that you might have life,” then I don’t ever want to take matters into my own hands. I believe God wanted to prove to His people that He could and would prosper them in a foreign land (read Jeremiah 29:7). So today, if your back is up against the wall, hang in there because “God Always Makes A Way For His People.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I’m grateful this AM for LIFE! Thank You that You still give Your people a CHOICE when the going gets especially tough. Today, as every day, I will choose LIFE! Amen
