Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.
Jesus explained to His disciples that the only way into the kingdom of God was to become like a little child. His reason for saying this was based upon our need for “childlike faith.” A child tends to believe first and ask questions later. You could say that there is a need for all of us older folks to “Get Little.”
We “Big People” usually ask questions first before we ever think about believing. Doubt is always our adversary when it comes to Faith in God. There is nothing our great God cannot do. Remember, He is all-knowing, all-powerful, and everywhere at the same time. Even those statements usher in the thought of doubt. Immediately the “Big, Grown-Up Person” thinks, “But HOW can a person we cannot see be all-powerful, all-knowing, and everywhere at the same time?” See what I mean? When I told my sons as little boys who God is, they said: “I love God.” They didn’t know Him as I did at the time, but they BELIEVED. Jesus said, “If anyone wants to enter the kingdom of heaven, they must become like a little child.” All of us older folks, when it comes to faith, must always remember that our only chance at really believing is to “Get Little!”
When it comes to real faith in YOU, I don’t ever want to grow up. I want to stay like a little child. Help me today to “Get Little.” Amen
