Get Dressed
S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Romans 13:14
Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.
O-bservation:
St. Paul addressed a Christian’s response to government authority. We are told to respect those in authority over us. Of course, he was writing as a believer who would one day be beheaded by a tyrannical leader of Rome. But even in dire situations, Paul said we have a higher authority. Obey the earthly authority you are under while your ultimate allegiance is to the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. Clothe yourself with Jesus. Stay clothed in Jesus. Never get undressed of Jesus, just “Get Dressed!”
A-pplication:
What the Lord has shown me through three months of the pandemic to date, and now mass rioting here in America due to the merciless killing of Mr. George Floyd by the police is simply this, never get undressed from your Christian character. Stay dressed in Jesus at all times, no matter whose earthly authority, or which earthly government you are subject to. When you get up in the morning and “Get Dressed” in Jesus, you are presenting yourself to a watching world in proper Christian apparel. Never put on dirty, bitter underwear. Never put on a poorly worded shirt that demeans from the Jesus you serve. Never walk in shoes that have been so sullied by the grime of this world that you create a foul smell when you walk in the room. NO! None of those pieces of attire are worthy of being worn by a man or woman of God. Instead, every day, determine, “I will again today Get Dressed in Jesus.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
With all of my heart, I ask that You help me “Get Dressed” again this AM. I want to be thoroughly clothed in Christ again today. Amen

A very good word Pastor. We must remember to Whom we belong and Who we represent here on earth.
