Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
Since you are my rock and my fortress, for the sake of your name lead and guide me.
King David told the Lord that He was his rock and his fortress. In other words, David was saying, “You’re all I’ve got and You’re all I need. So … For The Sake of Your Name please keep Your hand on my life!”
Have you ever encountered the Lord in such a personal way that you thought to yourself, “I don’t ever want this moment to end?” I think that’s the way David was feeling in this Psalm. He was like most of us, I’m sure. We aren’t convinced of our own next moves. Outside of the grace of God we’re capable of doing just about anything crazy one can imagine. How many times have you heard of a friend who did something stupid and you said, “What was he thinking? I can’t believe he did that!” It doesn’t happen once in a while, it happens all the time. David knew it did too! He loved the Lord so much and wanted to honor the Lord to the point that he asked the Lord to lead and guide him, “For The Sake of Your Name!”
“For The Sake of Your Name” keep Your hand on me and protect me from evil. I bear Your name and I don’t want to embarrass You today! Amen
