Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

1 Timothy 6:12

Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

St. Paul, in writing to his understudy Timothy, concludes the first letter to Timothy with this encouragement. He wanted Timothy to understand that he was in a real battle between the flesh and the spirit. The only way he could win the battle would be to “FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT!”

It seems to me that everywhere you look people are fighting. There is civil war in many places throughout the world. Refugees are running from “The Fight” to try and find acceptance in other nations not their own. The political scene at home and abroad is no longer civil. People appear to want to fight at the drop of a hat. BUT … that’s not the kind of fighting St. Paul is talking about in this passage. He’s talking about the Good Fight of Faith! And he is not only encouraging his young follower Timothy, he’s encouraging every “Jesus Follower” of all time to join the Fight. Indeed, it’s time for all believers everywhere to stand up for their Faith and “FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT!” Whether one wants to believe it or not, Jesus really is coming soon. People need Jesus and the only hope for them is for folks like you and me to Fight the Good Fight of Faith.

Dear Jesus,

I’m ready. With Your help I will stay engaged in the Fight for men and women to know Jesus. Help me. I’ll say it again … please help me Jesus! Amen

  1. The sermon on “ Fight Fight Fight”was exactly what I needed to hear today in order to reaffirm my faith in Jesus Christ. Thank you Pastor! The Holy Spirit has dictated this sermon. When the World out there is fighting for our fleshly satisfaction and for carnal mind, the Holy Spirit works in His elects to revive the believer in doubt. May God bless you greatly!
