Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
When they had finished dividing the land into its allotted portions, the Israelites gave Joshua son of Nun an inheritance among them.
After the people of Israel had moved into the Promised Land, it was up to the priest Eleazar, Joshua, and the heads of the tribes of Israel to allot the land to every tribe. When they came to the end of dispensing the property, the Israelite leaders, including THE leader, Joshua, allotted an inheritance of land to Joshua. The leaders of God’s chosen people put into place that “Even The Leader Should Receive A Portion.”
My personal belief is that whenever a group of people is prospering, whoever the leader of that group is should prosper too. Sometimes the people who are prospering have a say in whether or not their leader should prosper like they are. I have witnessed, at times in my life, the blessed people becoming stingy. I’ve also witnessed other blessed people being very generous. Inevitably, the stingy blessed people end up finishing lousy, and the generous blessed people finish prosperously! I don’t have a dog in the hunt because, by the grace of God, I’ve always been with blessed and prosperous people, and my family has done just fine. But if there’s ever a question in your mind, and you have a say in the matter, remember, “Even The Leader Should Receive A Portion.”
I thank You for Your blessing in our lives. I ask You to help me to always be generous at every turn! Amen
