Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself
S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Philippians 1:6
Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
O-bservation:
St. Paul told the young church at Philippi that each member of that church should remember this: “Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself.” The reason the apostle told them this is because God, who had begun a good work in each of them was continuing, daily, to do a good work in each of them and would continue until they went to heaven.
A-pplication:
Here’s the truth, God is not finished with us yet! Please, whatever you do, never forget that little line. The devil will do everything he can to make you feel as though you have messed up one too many times, but the truth is God is not finished with you yet. Like the potter who works tirelessly on the marred vessel until it is finished, our Heavenly Father is working daily on us according to His pleasure in us. Unlike the earthly potter, Jesus never quits working on us until we are safely home in heaven. So, once again, don’t forget, God is not finished with you yet. That’s why I’m telling you this AM, “Don’t Be Too Hard On Yourself.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
As I’m working this AM, preparing for another day of being “sheltered in” until this pandemic passes, I’m blessed to know YOU ARE NOT FINISHED WITH ME YET! That is an encouragement and a relief! Amen
