DOING Is Still A Part Of Our Faith

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Acts 26:20b

I preached that they should repent and turn to God and demonstrate their repentance by their deeds.

O-bservation:

Before King Agrippa sent Paul off to Rome to stand trial, because he was a citizen of Rome, he wanted to hear Paul for himself. Paul said he had been preaching that people needed to repent of their sins to Jesus and then show that they had repented by what they did with their lives after.

A-pplication:

The scripture tells us that the law came by way of Moses, but grace and truth came by way of Jesus (John 1:17). In the Old Testament, it was all about DOING, but in the New Testament, the grace of God was poured out through Jesus. There is forgiveness of sin through the gift of God’s grace through Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. Yet “DOING Is Still A Part Of Our Faith.” We’re not saved to sit. We’re not redeemed in order to relax. GRACE is not a license to be lazy. There is work to do as we live out our faith in Jesus. James, the brother of our Lord, said it this way, “But someone will say, ‘You have faith; I have deeds.’ Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds” (James 2:18). While on this earth, Jesus told us that there was a great harvest of people who needed to know of the love of God, but there were too few workers to tell them. He said to Pray that God would raise up workers. Like never before the words of St. Paul must be obeyed, because “DOING Is Still A Part Of Our Faith.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

Thank You this AM, that You have called me to WORK in Your field of harvest. Help me to love people the way You love. Amen
