Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
My people come to you, as they usually do, and sit before you to hear your words, but they do not put them into practice. Their mouths speak of love, but their hearts are greedy for unjust gain.
Here the Lord has a conversation about His own people, the people of Israel. He tells Ezekiel that he sees Israel go and listen to Ezekiel, and they say nice things about love, but their hearts are full of greed.
Obviously God was speaking of His own beloved wayward sons and daughters in this passage. People who were completely phony in their hearts, but who still loved the Prophet’s preaching style. Perhaps it made them think of their childhood upbringing. Yet they had no desire whatsoever to change their ways or follow the Almighty. They said one thing but lived another. I believe that all of us should be awakened to righteousness when we read this passage, and simply “Do What You Say!”
This AM I’m asking you to help me live what I proclaim to be. Amen
