Crime vs. The Right Way

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Ecclesiastes 8:12

Although a wicked person who commits a hundred crimes may live a long time, I know that it will go better with those who fear God, who are reverent before him.

O-bservation:

For those of us who follow Judeo-Christian teachings, Solomon, in our opinion, was the wisest man who ever lived. After a lifetime of observation as to how life goes, he said that a CRIMINAL may live a long time but not enjoy the longevity of peace a righteous person enjoys.

A-pplication:

I suppose this short devo has to do with whatever turns your crank. I’ve met lots of criminals in my life who are just waiting to get caught. In fact, that’s what turns their crank. They do things hoping to escape the law, but in the deep of their heart, there’s an anticipation of getting caught that appears to drive them. I’m not just speaking of activity that puts them in jail either. I’m talking about insisting on living on the wrong side of God’s truth, hoping to see where the other side ends up in time. That’s not for me. I’ve lived a pretty long time, and by the grace of God, I’ve been thrilled to live in harmony with scriptural direction. Others can do what they want, but when it comes to “Crime vs. The Right Way” I’ll take the Right Way. Life is tough enough living Right Way; I don’t want to live life having to run from the law.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

After all, I’ve said this AM, I’m most thankful that You have given us all a choice. The choice is about “Crime vs. The Right Way.” With Your help, I’ll keep choosing “The Right Way.” Amen
