Conditional REWARDS

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Proverbs 3:9-10

Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.

O-bservation:

This was not a suggestion from King Solomon to his constituents; it was a command. I’m not sure he thought anyone other than his people of Israel would one day read it, but he definitely did not write this COMMAND as a SUGGESTION. Here we are, thousands of years later, reading this command as a word from God and not Solomon. It speaks of “Conditional REWARDS!”

A-pplication:

If ever there was a coined phrase more important for this command from God, it has to be, “Just Do It!” We can ask questions until we’re blue in the face about whether or not this was only a law for Israel or if it is a biblical command for all time. We can squabble over what “Firstfruits” really meant, or if this was really just meant for those who had VINEYARDS in Solomon’s day? The truth is, those of us who have walked with the Lord for much longer than just a minute know that if we will be faithful with the firstfruit or tithe of our income, our VATS or bank accounts will end up running over in time. We have proven it! This command comes with Conditional REWARDS!

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I’m ready to meet any condition You have for me in order to end up with heavenly rewards. I’m Your servant. I’d do it anyway. Amen
