Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
I rejoiced with those who said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord.”
King David was glad when his associates would say to him, “O king, you’ve worked hard this week, let’s go to church.” For King David, the greatest known king to live in the Judeo/Christian faith, his “Happy Button” was the House of the Lord.
What makes you rejoice? What is it that you look forward to more than anything else in your week? Is it a family holiday? Because that usually doesn’t happen every week. Whatever it is, it likely doesn’t usually happen on a regular basis. But for David, CHURCH was his happy button. When our sons were little, and they’d be upset, my wife would look at them and say, “Push Your Happy Button!” As we grow into adulthood there are times when the stress of this life allows gravity to set in and pull the corners of our mouth toward the earth. It is absolutely necessary to push our “Happy Button” on those occasions. Business and work and life goals are impacted negatively when we appear defeated in public. But to be honest, the idea of the House of the Lord lifts my spirit. There has to be a weekly, if not daily, thought pattern that makes you smile. Why not consider CHURCH? In other words, “CHURCH = My Happy Button.”
I truly am happy when people say to me, “Let’s Go To Church.” Indeed, “CHURCH = My Happy Button.” Amen
