Chin Up

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Psalm 3:3

But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high.

O-bservation:

King David had heard people say to him, and behind his back, that his God would not save him. But David said in response, by way of a prayer to his great God, “You Lord are my shield and my glory.” Glory means “to make bigger,” so he was saying you are HUGE in my life. Then he said, “Lord lift my head high.”

A-pplication:

Have you ever seen a young army private in full dress with slumping shoulders and his chin drooping? Never! Have you ever seen a four-star general standing at attention, kind of looking around nonchalantly? Never! Why? Because both of them, the young private and the aging general, are in the service of their country. The entire country stands behind them, so they are resolute in their stand. All you and I need as men and women who follow the Lord is to know that all of heaven, including our King Jesus, is standing behind us and He is cheering us on right now, according to Hebrews 12:1. Whatever the devil has tried to discourage you with this AM, here’s what I want to say: “You are a servant of the most high God! CHIN UP!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

It is with a heart of THANKSGIVING that I pause this morning to give You praise. Indeed, as King David said, you are my Shield and my Glory and You are the Lifter of my head. I will move forward today with my “Chin Up” and my shoulders back. Amen
