Can YOU Keep A Secret?

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Deuteronomy 29:29

The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law.

O-bservation:

Moses reminds the people of Israel, and us today, that the secret things belong to God, but what we know must be passed on to our children so that we may please the Lord in all we do.

A-pplication:

“Can YOU Keep A Secret?” The immediate answer is NO! Jesus Himself said, “For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open” (Luke 8:17). Yet God Himself CAN keep a secret! What’s funny about this short discussion is that humankind keeps trying to unlock the secret thing, while ignoring that which is known. God has revealed everything in His Word that we need to know in order to live a dynamic and fulfilling life. However, if you think about it, the more a society evolves, the more that society strays from what is known to search for that which is unknown. Research and exploration are not bad, unless we leave the known truth of the Almighty, which keeps us intact, stable, and in love with one another. Never forget that the people who worked to build the Tower of Babel were eventually brought to confusion. It feels like those days are upon us now. The more we seek to know, the more confusion we discover. Perhaps a simple return to what has already been revealed would bring the healing so many are in search of today.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I want to know You more. I want to live what I do know. I want to teach Your Word to my children’s children. I want You to increase and me to decrease! Amen
