But What About You?
S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Luke 9:20
“But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” Peter answered, “God’s Messiah.”
O-bservation:
This is a truly fantastic statement made by the Apostle Peter. Jesus had thrown the question to His disciples as to what people were saying about who He was. The disciples had different responses, and then Jesus zeroed in on them and said, “But What About You?” In other words, “Who do you say I am?”
A-pplication:
This question that Jesus posed to His disciples still resonates today around the world. If He really is the Messiah of God, then He must be worshipped. That’s the rub! Close to a third of the world’s population has embraced Him as Savior and Lord, but many refuse to believe. Why? It’s just a challenge to believe it because it requires faith. Faith at some point must drop REASON on the ground and move on to believe. That’s difficult for people who were given a brain to reason things out to a final provable conclusion. But if the realm of Spiritual Faith was predicated on reasonable proof, there would be no faith at all. That’s why we as mortals have this one part of our lives that is known as spirit. spirit is short for spiritual and spiritual has to do with faith. To deny one’s spirit is to deny part of oneself. This AM, Jesus is still asking, “But What About You?”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
This AM I’m so grateful that You revealed Yourself to me many years ago. When You did, You completed me. It got old denying part of myself by demanding PROOF concerning Faith. You got me past it, and today I’m FREE! Amen

Great devotional. My faith is strengthened today as I examine the ways I “demand proof”.
